Best industries in Petaluma right now

Random thought, I'm single, late 30s, and Poverty rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. With a population of 59,321, Petaluma is a smaller city. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Anyone in a similar situation? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

The food scene here is better than expected. Tons of great BBQ places. it's been a really good experience overall.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in The Heights. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in government. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Definitely worth checking out..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Chicago it's excellent.
