Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Crime rate is something to consider -Petersburg sits at 450.7 per 100K. Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Let me know your thoughts.
