Curious what people think. Born and raised here. Crime rate is something to consider -Petersburg sits at 748.3 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $1,132 for rent here. The weather takes some getting used to. Worth the trade-offs? The city has invested a lot in new development.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Decent public transit for the size
- The public transit scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Hope this helps!.

Bought a house here in 2022 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone about the same since then.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is decent in most areas.
