What's it really like living in Petersburg?

First post here. Average temperature is around 59--F, so the weather is moderate. Household incomes average around $50,741 in Petersburg. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Is this normal for Petersburg? Thanks! The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 2 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 15 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. nightlife used to be much stable but now it's hit or miss.
