OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Old Town. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in legal. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I'm a HR manager and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much pricey but now it's surprisingly good.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want dating scene, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Dallas about 12 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is pretty good.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Definitely worth checking out..
