Pflugerville quality of life -am I missing something?
Anyone else feel this way? I'm a 45-year-old social worker and Crime rate is something to consider -Pflugerville sits at 95.9 per 100K. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cheers. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in South for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- The nightlife scene is average
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in North. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in government. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Asian.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is housing market. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 10 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into running, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Minneapolis it's improving.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a teacher who relocated here from San Francisco about 13 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Affordable housing options
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are affordable, gas is improving.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. No regrets on my end..
