Pharr vs St. Louis -which is better?

Random thought, I'm originally from Austin and The median home value here is around $111,500, which is actually reasonable. Average temperature is around 77--F, so it's warm year-round. Poverty rate is 27.8%, which is higher than I expected. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What are your go-to spots? Looking forward to hearing from you all. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely tough and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
