Not sure if this has been asked before, but Median household income is $49,715, which feels on the lower side for the area. It's a a smaller city city with about 38,477 people. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Any advice would be great. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

Used to live on the Greenfield side, now on the Old Town side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 14 years ago. The main reasons were school and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are competitive, gas is tough.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
