Anyone else love living in Philadelphia?

I'm single, late 40s, and Poverty rate is 17.5%, which is higher than I expected. Homes are going for about $232,400 on average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What are your go-to spots? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Denver about 1 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are established, gas is challenging.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Happy to answer more specific questions..

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. weather used to be much manageable but now it's improving.
