We have two kids (3 and 10) and are looking for a family-friendly neighborhood in Philadelphia. Budget is around $1323/month for rent. We prioritize good schools and safety. Any recommendations?
Also, are there good parks and activities for kids in the area?

If you can afford it, Midtown is the best place to live. Period.

The job market has been improving lately. Several education companies moved in recently.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.

Coming from Miami, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are cheaper.

Great post! One thing I'd mention is the west side tends to be more affordable. Makes a big difference.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

I'd add that the parks here are amazing for families. Otherwise spot on!

Respectfully disagree about the cost of living assessment. In my experience, it's been pretty safe in my area.

Good summary. I'd rate it higher personally — maybe 6/10.
