Job market in Philadelphia for tech?

Hi all, Homes are going for about $232,400 on average. Average temperature is around 57°F, so the weather is moderate. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What would you do? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

My experience has been mostly positive. I love the pace of life here. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Close to major attractions
- The traffic scene is solid

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a lawyer, 26, moved here 6 years ago from Dallas. I've lived in Downtown and Westside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Property taxes are high
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The weather situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for families. surprisingly good vibes, walkable.
- Westside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Dallas, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $100K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

The downsides:
- Bugs and humidity in summer
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Hope this helps!.

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Maple Ridge area are challenging. Kids love it here.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Chicago it's surprisingly good.

Used to live on the East side, now on the Midtown side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
