Anyone else noticing rent going up fast in Philadelphia? Over the last year, I feel like prices went up at least 10-15%. I'm paying $1323 for a 2BR which feels okay for the area.
Are there any neighborhoods that are still affordable? Thinking about moving to a cheaper area.

The food scene here is seriously underrated. So many great restaurants.

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.

Been here 20 years. The city has changed a lot but overall for the better.

I've lived in Eastside for 7 years and it's a hidden gem honestly.

Coming from San Francisco, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are about the same.

Check out the Downtown area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

Weather is the biggest factor for us. Four seasons are nice, not too extreme either way.

Good summary. I'd rate it higher personally — maybe 7/10.

As someone who moved here from Philadelphia, I can confirm most of this. The weather surprised me the most.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Lakewood and Pine Grove are perfectly safe.

I'd add that healthcare options are better than most cities this size. Otherwise spot on!
