Alright, Average temperature is around 66--F, so the weather is moderate. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Let me know your thoughts.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The nightlife is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from San Francisco about 9 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are reasonable, gas is underrated.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a lawyer, 37, moved here 10 years ago from Denver. I've lived in Lakewood and Maple Ridge, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The housing market situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Lakewood: Great for singles. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Maple Ridge: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Denver, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $80K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in East area are average. Kids love it here.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
