Anyone regret moving to Pico Rivera?

Hi all, I work in hospitality and Rent is about $1,775/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. With a population of 60,821, Pico Rivera is a smaller city. Household incomes average around $86,956 in Pico Rivera. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. Does this match your experience? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely tough and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Downtown) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Limited shopping options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
