Job market in Pico Rivera for tech?

Longtime lurker here, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and It's a a smaller city city with about 60,821 people. The median home value here is around $621,400, which is pretty steep. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much reasonable but now it's surprisingly good.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Dallas about 13 years ago. The main reasons were work and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are established, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

The food scene here is improving. Tons of great Asian places. it was the best decision I ever made.

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Greenfield area are decent. Kids love it here.
