Housing market in Pikesville right now

Random thought, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and You can expect to pay around $1,646 for rent here. With a population of 34,253, Pikesville is a smaller city. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Thoughts? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is healthcare. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Phoenix about 4 years ago. The main reasons were work and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Strong job market in several industries
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Hope this helps!.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 13 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Downtown for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Close to major attractions
- The nightlife scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Dating scene is rough
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. weather used to be much competitive but now it's better than expected.

Used to live on the Midtown side, now on the Highland side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Fairview area are excellent. Kids love it here.

I'm a electrician and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is average and there's always something going on.
