Life in Pikeville as a young professional

Alright, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Homes are going for about $301,300 on average. Median household income is $39,216, which feels on the lower side for the area. The unemployment rate is 1.5%, which is pretty low. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Friendly people
- Diverse community

Cons:
- Not very walkable
- Limited dining options
- Lack of diversity
- Boring for young people
Thoughts? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is excellent in most areas.

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is nightlife. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

Came here for work and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The dating scene is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Miami it's tough.
