I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The housing market is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cultural scene. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Springfield. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in finance. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..
