Worst things about Pinckneyville nobody talks about

OK so Just moved here 18 months ago and Household incomes average around $55,000 in Pinckneyville. Average temperature is around 55--F, so the weather is moderate. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Weather-wise, the summers are average and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The walkability is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Riverside) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
