I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The safety is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've been living here for 7 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- The school system scene is tough
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 15 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want walkability, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is better than expected.
