Moving to Pine Hills — what should I know?

I got a job offer in Pine Hills, FL and I'm seriously considering the move. I'm coming from a mid-size city. A few questions:

1. Which neighborhoods should I look at for a $1200-1700 budget?
2. How's the commute situation?
3. Is the crime rate accurate for day-to-day life?
4. Any hidden costs I should know about?

Thanks in advance!

Rent tip: look for places in January-February. Prices drop and there's more availability.

Moved here last year. No regrets. Great value for the money.

I've lived in Northside for 8 years and it's decent, has its pros and cons.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

If you can afford it, Southside is the best place to live. Period.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Downtown and Oakwood are perfectly safe.

Don't sleep on Riverside. It's up and coming and still affordable.

Check out the Maple Heights area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

I work in logistics and finding a job wasn't hard. Took about 3 months.

Been here 20 years. The city has changed a lot but overall for the better.

Great post! One thing I'd mention is drive around neighborhoods at different times before committing. Makes a big difference.
