Pine Hills job market vs Minneapolis

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Just moved here 3 months ago and Poverty rate is 16.3%, which is higher than I expected. It's a a smaller city city with about 82,264 people. The median home value here is around $233,700, which is actually reasonable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Has anyone dealt with this? The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Nashville about 5 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are established, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.
