Hey folks, I grew up here but left for a while. Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. You can expect to pay around $289 for rent here. The median home value here is around $111,300, which is actually reasonable. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. job market used to be much established but now it's underrated.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a data analyst who relocated here from LA about 15 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong job market in several industries
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are affordable, gas is average.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.
