Remote worker thinking about Pine Mountain Club

OK so Just moved here 4 months ago and The unemployment rate is 5.0%, which is about average. Poverty rate is 6.3%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $365,700, which seems about average. It's a a small town city with about 2,661 people. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Am I overthinking this? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Bought a house here in 2019 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 4 years ago. The main reasons were work and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is challenging.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
