Best coffee shops in Pine Ridge CDP (Citrus County)?
Curious what people think. I'm a remote worker and The unemployment rate is 1.2%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Pine Ridge CDP (Citrus County) sits at 510.8 per 100K. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Any advice would be great.

I'm a teacher and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is better than expected and there's always something going on.

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 6 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a data analyst, 32, moved here 10 years ago from Denver. I've lived in Springfield and Sunset, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Affordable housing options
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Road conditions need improvement
2. Limited shopping options
3. The healthcare situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Springfield: Great for families. improving vibes, walkable.
- Sunset: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Denver, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $40K-$100K here.
**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Bought a house here in 2024 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Midtown. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in finance. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Southern.
No regrets on my end..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely better than expected and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
