Should I move to Pine Ridge CDP (Citrus County) or stay in Austin?

First post here. Poverty rate is 9.5%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,053 for rent here. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Would love some local perspective. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The cost of living is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in East area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

The food scene here is challenging. Tons of great Southern places. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if safety matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely excellent and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in Lakewood for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- The school system scene is average

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. Feel free to reach out with questions..
