Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Tampa about 12 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are affordable, gas is underrated.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've lived in Westside for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The safety scene is decent

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.
