Alright, The median home value here is around $251,900, which seems about average. Rent is about $1,506/month for a decent place. It's a a smaller city city with about 53,423 people. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cheers. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Lakewood. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Korean.
Definitely worth checking out..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (East) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want healthcare, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
