Pinellas Park quality of life -am I missing something?
So, We're a young couple and Am I overthinking this? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Tampa it's excellent.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Meadowbrook. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in construction. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a electrician who relocated here from Portland about 11 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are pricey, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Definitely worth checking out..

Came here for school and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The safety is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

The food scene here is surprisingly good. Tons of great farm-to-table places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
