Rent in Pinellas Park getting crazy

Median household income is $62,043, which feels about average for the area. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Am I overthinking this? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much reasonable but now it's excellent.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a marketing manager, 32, moved here 10 years ago from Raleigh. I've lived in North and South, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Active local events and festivals
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Limited high-paying job options
3. The food scene situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- North: Great for families. excellent vibes, walkable.
- South: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Raleigh, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
