Why I chose Pinellas Park over bigger cities

We have two kids and Poverty rate is 8.3%, which is pretty low. With a population of 53,423, Pinellas Park is a smaller city. The unemployment rate is 3.0%, which is pretty low. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What are your go-to spots? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. I genuinely enjoy living here. Worth doing your research before committing.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
