Should I move to Pittsburgh or stay in Denver?

Average temperature is around 54°F, so expect cold winters. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Maple Ridge. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in construction. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely decent and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
