With a population of 3,796, Pixley is a small town. Crime rate is something to consider -Pixley sits at 411.7 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 3,796 people. The median home value here is around $220,000, which is actually reasonable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Am I wrong here? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a data analyst, 53, moved here 10 years ago from Miami. I've lived in Old Town and Westside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Close to major attractions
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Dating scene is rough
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The cultural scene situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Old Town: Great for remote workers. tough vibes, walkable.
- Westside: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Miami, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $60K-$140K here.
**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in Lakewood for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
- The nightlife scene is average
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Rising rent and home prices
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Fairview for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The public transit scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. Definitely worth checking out..

Came here for family and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The safety is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
