Best hidden gems in Placentia

Hey, I'm a remote worker and Rent is about $2,267/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $110,575 in Placentia. Poverty rate is 6.2%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Placentia sits at 371.0 per 100K. The median home value here is around $871,000, which is pretty steep. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Great weather
- Walkable downtown

Cons:
- Rising rent prices
- Limited dining options
- Few job opportunities in some fields
What would you do? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Bought a house here in 2016 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The community vibe scene is tough

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in East. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in construction. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Thai.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Riverside. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in retail. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The walkability is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in West for 10 years. Moved from Tampa for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is solid. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. West schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Bugs and humidity in summer. Far from beaches/mountains. And cost of living can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 5/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Cedar Grove. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in education. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Denver about 3 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Decent public transit for the size
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are pricey, gas is underrated.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Oak Park for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The walkability scene is average

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Seattle about 8 years ago. The main reasons were weather and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are affordable, gas is underrated.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Hope this helps!.
