Random thought, We have two kids and Median household income is $110,575, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a a smaller city city with about 52,384 people. With a population of 52,384, Placentia is a smaller city. The median home value here is around $871,000, which is pretty steep. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.
I've been here 15 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into running, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. outdoor recreation used to be much established but now it's solid.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely excellent and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Lakewood) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
