Rent in Placerville getting crazy

First post here. We have two kids and Crime rate is something to consider -Placerville sits at 350.6 per 100K. Median household income is $70,602, which feels about average for the area. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Thoughts? Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Bought a house here in 2015 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone about the same since then.

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great Mediterranean places. it's not perfect but it works for me.
