Plain City job market vs Charlotte

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I relocated for work and With a population of 8,101, Plain City is a small town.

Bought a house here in 2024 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.

Used to live on the Springfield side, now on the West side. Completely different vibe. it's not perfect but it works for me.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Uptown. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in finance. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Midtown. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in government. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
