Starting a business in Plain City?

Alright, Rent is about $2,184/month for a decent place. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Let me know your thoughts. Any help is appreciated. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely excellent and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (West) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely tough and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (West) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in East. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in consulting. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
