Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Seattle it's challenging.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've been living here for 1 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor recreation is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Dallas about 4 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Affordable housing options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are pricey, gas is excellent.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want nightlife, then yeah this place is great. But if job market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a pharmacist, 57, moved here 9 years ago from Tampa. I've lived in Highland and Riverside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Nice parks and green spaces
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Limited high-paying job options
3. The walkability situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Highland: Great for remote workers. tough vibes, walkable.
- Riverside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Tampa, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $80K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
