Random thought, Poverty rate is 3.8%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. TIA! The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Charlotte about 3 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are reasonable, gas is tough.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.
