Hey, My family moved here when I was a kid. The median home value here is around $383,300, which seems about average. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Worth the trade-offs? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

I'm a physical therapist and I've found it exceeded my expectations. The community is excellent and there's always something going on.

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a nurse, 48, moved here 5 years ago from Denver. I've lived in Riverside and Meadowbrook, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Limited high-paying job options
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The healthcare situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Riverside: Great for remote workers. decent vibes, walkable.
- Meadowbrook: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Denver, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $60K-$90K here.
**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want healthcare, then yeah this place is great. But if public transit matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Came here for weather and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The traffic is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
