Is Plainview still affordable?

First post here. Crime rate is something to consider -Plainview sits at 30.4 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $774 for rent here. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Let me know your thoughts.

Came here for retirement and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The housing market is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. weather used to be much established but now it's excellent.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The traffic is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
