I'm a sales manager who relocated here from New York about 3 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is solid.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size
- The community vibe scene is improving
The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Homeless population growing downtown
