Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Miami it's challenging.

Moved here from LA about 9 years ago. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Still getting used to public transit but Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Phoenix about 7 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Four distinct seasons
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is decent.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
