Dog-friendly places in Plano?

Anyone else feel this way? I'm retired and Rent is about $1,792/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $108,649 in Plano. Average temperature is around 68°F, so the weather is moderate. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Portland about 12 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are growing, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Greenfield. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in retail. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in Lakewood area are pretty good. Kids love it here.
