I've been working remotely from Plano for 8 years now. Here's my take:
The pace of life here is perfect for remote work. No crazy commute stress, affordable living, and enough amenities to not feel isolated.
Cost of living: pretty reasonable
Internet: Could be better but workable with a good provider
Coworking spaces: Limited but the library works in a pinch
If you're looking for a place to WFH, Plano is worth considering.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Old Town and Southside are perfectly safe.
