Just moved to Platteville, any tips?

Alright, I'm originally from Portland and It's a a small town city with about 11,421 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Platteville sits at 156.8 per 100K. Median household income is $42,667, which feels on the lower side for the area. Rent is about $885/month for a decent place. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up.

I'm a contractor and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is challenging and there's always something going on.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.
