What to expect moving to Platteville?

Been meaning to ask this. I'm a remote worker and The median home value here is around $186,900, which is actually reasonable. The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $42,667, which feels on the lower side for the area. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What do you all think? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 3 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is underrated in most areas.
