Rent vs buy in Pleasant Grove -what makes sense?

First post here. Been living here since 2012. You can expect to pay around $1,588 for rent here. It's a a smaller city city with about 37,544 people. Household incomes average around $96,347 in Pleasant Grove. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Low crime in most areas
- Lots of new development
- Active local events

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Cold winters
- Not enough green space
Would love some local perspective. Any help is appreciated. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The housing market scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The community vibe is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
