Worst things about Pleasant Hills nobody talks about

Hey folks, It's a a small town city with about 3,955 people. Poverty rate is 1.7%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $480,800, which is pretty steep. Median household income is $143,068, which feels pretty solid for the area. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Good schools
- Easy commute

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Boring for young people
- Not enough green space
The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 6 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Midtown for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Four distinct seasons
- The food scene scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Uptown for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Decent public transit for the size
- The walkability scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've been here 4 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Nashville it's tough.
